JCB’s 20 tonne excavator, the JS200LC (short carriage) is blessed with exceptional efficiency, strength, productivity, comfort, safety and ease of maintenance.
JCB have created an all-new high-strength boom and dipper for this 360 excavator, and we’ve used only the very best components too, like Berco running gear, Kawasaki pumps and Kayaba main control valves.
The JS200LC excavators’s new DieselMax 448 engine provides up to 20% fuel savings over our outgoing model, while a closed box-section revolving frame increases strength and reduces stress.

Simultaneous tracking and excavating is smooth and fast with intuitive multifunction operation. The JCB 20 tonne excavator variable power bands allow you to tailor performance – and therefore economy – to specific tasks.
JCB’s tracked excavators use hydraulic regeneration to recycle oil across the cylinders for faster cycle times and reduced fuel consumption.
Auto-idle technology automatically reduces the engine speed of the JS200LC tracked excavator when its hydraulics aren’t in use.

Function switches on this tracked excavator are easy to reach and include the heater and climate control panels.
JCB’s 20 tonne excavator have a spacious luggage tray behind the operator’s seat.
An easy-to-read 3.5” colour multi-function display provides instant operational information, and has customisable home screens.
SAFETY PLUS
Cushioned boom and dipper ends prevent shock loadings, protect your tracked excavator, and increase operator comfort, while 6 viscous rubber mounts minimise noise and vibration.
To keep everything under control, JCB’s 20 tonne excavator have a balanced slew and electronic/hydraulic controlled slew braking. A large floor area with large high grip pedals gives safe, easy and precise tracking.
A 70/30 front screen split provides a clear view of the front right track, while a large laminated glass roof window gives this 360 excavator exceptional all-round visibility.
EASY & COMPREHENSIVE CONTROL
We use Finite Element Analysis with extensive rig and endurance testing to make these 360 excavators last longer.
A new reinforced boom and dipper is made of high tensile strength steel, with three-piece wrapper plates and cast ends for strength and durability.
Robust cast ends and pivot bosses make the new boom and dipper on this tracked excavator extremely strong.
The high-strength undercarriage of JCB’s 20 tonne excavator is of a fully welded X-frame construction for long-term durability even in the most demanding applications, and the rigid upper frame provides maximum durability and support.
The turret on JCB’s 20 tonne excavators is welded to both the upper and lower undercarriage frames, and stiff, durable doors provide further strength.
For ultimate reliability, we construct our tracked excavators using only the very best componentry, including Berco running gear, Kawasaki pumps and Kayaba main control valves.
EFFICIENT SERVICEABILITY
We’ve designed JCB’s 20 tonne excavators to be low maintenance and easily serviceable, making them affordable, efficient and highly productive to run.
Bonnets open and close easily with gas-assisted cylinders, and the JS200LC tracked excavator’s service bays are large and wide for good access.1000-hour boom and dipper greasing intervals and a 5000-hour oil life provide maximum uptime on these 360 excavators.
Grease points are centralised on JCB’s 20 tonne excavators for safe and easy access to high-level pivots. Likewise filters (engine oil, hydraulic oil and fuel).
Because they’re mounted side by side, the JS200LC tracked excavator’s engine radiator, hydraulic cooler and intercooler can be serviced individually and cleaned easily.
